Bowness & Lakeside Piers open as usual

Essential waste water work by United Utilities means that the A592 road between Bowness and Newby Bridge will be closed between January and late March 2019.

All of our piers are unaffected by this closure, however, if you intend to travel by road between Lakeside Pier and Bowness Pier in this period you will have to follow a diversion. There are a number of 'Road Ahead Closed' signs in the Bowness and Windermere area, but rest assured that there is no closure until a few miles after the lake shore towards Newby Bridge. Bowness village, Bowness Pier, coach park and car parks are unaffected by this road closure.

For many of our customers, this will not be a problem, but coach drivers who drop off customers at Bowness coach park and then travel by road to pick them up at Lakeside Pier should make themselves aware of this road closure. We estimate that the diversion should add 30 minutes to your journey time in picking up customers.
