In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee (70 years of service), having acceded to the throne in February 1952.

An extended bank holiday, from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June will be taking place and we're delighted to be joining in the party with events on and around Windermere:

Thursday 2 June - 9:45pm

MV Swift will take part in “The Light District”

– when attractions, homes, monuments and gardens will light up across the Lake District in celebration of a historic moment in time. “The Light District” will illuminate the skies on the evening of Thursday, June 2nd at 9.45pm at Bowness Pier 1.FIND OUT MORE


Jubilee events image horn

Saturday 4 June - 12 noon

Listen out for us at 12 noon as the entire fleet take part in the 'ships salute'.

To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, there will be a ‘Ships Salute’ where every vessel, in every UK harbour, is being asked to sound a simultaneous long loud blast on their horn or whistle at exactly midday (12.00 BST).

Keep an eye out for our special Jubilee flags that will be decorating our piers and vessels. Special pride of place will go to our 'steamer' MV Teal (her majesty has travelled on this vessel twice) and Queen of the Lake.

Whole Jubilee week until Sunday 5 June

Join us for a scenic cruise or take a self-drive boat on the lake.

The rest of the country will be taking some time off during the 4-day weekend but for us, its business-as-usual. Join us on board a scenic cruise - all our routes are open as usual and we are running to the same timetable.
