Park & Sail

Is the cost of fuel and fear of your increasing carbon footprint putting you off having a day out?  Well, Windermere Lake Cruises may have the answer.

Take advantage of our Park & Sail initiative.  Park your car at Lakeside, purchase one of our Freedom of the Lake tickets and spend the day at your leisure, on and around Lake Windermere.

The carpark at Lakeside is adjacent to the piers and you can have up to 10 hours of parking for just £3.50!

Lakeside is also home to the Lakes Aquarium and a boarding point for the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

Between May & October we operate a ferry service to Fell Foot Park which is an ideal picnic area.  There is also a woodland trail and an adventure playground, or why not hire a rowing boat for a couple of hours and explore the lake.

For the more energetic, you can hire a bicycle from 'Country Lanes' and cycle around Lakeside, Finsthwaite or even as far as Hawkshead!

All in all, basing yourself at Lakeside, will be a day well spent!

You can of course park at Ambleside or Bowness and enjoy a full day out.  Bowness is the 'heart' of the Lake District and has a plethora of shops, cafes and restaurants.  Whereas, Ambleside is set beneath majestic mountains and is an equally great place to start and finish your day.
