Windermere Lake Cruises’ most iconic vessel has been returned to the water, after a thorough and planned inspection.

Taking turns in a rota-style system, each of the attraction’s three largest vessels are brought onto dry land every three years for a comprehensive programme of checks and engineering work.

This year was the turn of the attraction’s longest boat, the 127-year-old MV Tern, which was hauled out of the lake for maintenance work at Lakeside before Christmas.

Daily procedural work is also continuing on the other vessels which are operating services as part of the current seasonal timetable, by engineers on early morning shifts.
