Every year, Ambleside dazzles with its stunning Christmas lights display. The town’s lighting ceremony is a festive highlight, with carol singing, mince pies, and the switch-on event that brings everyone together for a cosy winter’s evening.
📍 The Christmas stalls and light switch on is about a 20 minute walk from our pier in Waterhead.

The Bowness Glebe Markets offer a wonderful selection of unique gifts, artisan crafts, and tasty holiday treats. Wander through the stalls, soak up the festive atmosphere, and find one-of-a-kind presents for loved ones.

Hawkshead village transforms into a winter wonderland during its annual Christmas market. With local vendors, handmade crafts, and festive food, this traditional market is a perfect way to experience the community spirit and seasonal cheer.
📍 To get to Hawkshead Christmas market, simply take our red cruise to Ambleside and then get the stagecoach bus to Hawkshead.

The Swan is back with its fantastic Christmas stalls this year! Wander through their barn and beautifully decorated hotel halls, filled with festive stalls showcasing gorgeous Christmas wares. You’ll find everything you need for decorations and gifts, with a few extra treats!
📍 You can get the yellow cruise from Bowness to Lakeside, and walk for approx 20 minutes from Lakeside to The Swan Hotel.
