Celebrate the rich heritage of Windermere at this vibrant, family-friendly Festival of the Lake. Set on the shores of the lake at Windermere Jetty Museum, the day brings together traditional boating culture, local history and the many ways people connect with this iconic landscape.

Visitors can enjoy a varied programme of activities throughout the day, including hands-on experiences, short talks inspired by the museum’s collection, live music and water-based demonstrations. A curated selection of local food vendors and stalls will also be available, creating a relaxed and welcoming lakeside atmosphere for all ages.

Take time to explore at your own pace, with self-led activities and plenty of opportunities to pause, soak up the views, and enjoy everything the event has to offer.

Travel tip: With limited parking in the area during busy events, arriving by boat is a great way to start your day. Enjoy the scenery from the water and avoid the crowds.
