During May half term, consider leaving the car behind and opting for a boat ride to explore the exciting family events mentioned below. Our cruises offer the flexibility to disembark and explore various attractions along the way, providing a cost-effective way to experience the finest offerings of Windermere.

Explore Fell Foot
Shuttle back running from the 25th May
Why not combine your visit to Lakeside Pier with a trip to Fell Foot Park, a popular National Trust lakeside park with a picnic area and children’s adventure playground. Family-friendly park, perfect for paddle sports and canoeing.
⛴️ There is a regular boat service from Lakeside to Fell Foot.
Explorer packs and wildlife trail @ Windermere Jetty museum
From the 25th May
Explore the natural world both indoors and outdoors at Windermere Jetty Museum this summer. Pick up a trail guide and explorer pack
from the front desk to embark on your discovery. This activity is
included in museum admission.
⛴️ Get there by taking the Islands Cruise from our Bowness Pier.
Peter Rabbit Tea Party @ The World of Beatrix Potter, Bowness
From the 25th May
Join Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit for a fun afternoon tea party at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. The event takes place in the Laundrama party venue which is just across from the Attraction on Rayrigg Road.
⛴️ 5 minutes walk from our Bowness Pier. Get there from Lakeside Pier on a Yellow Cruise or Ambleside and Brockhole on a Red Cruise.
Peter Rabbit & Jemima sculpture painting @ The World of Beatrix Potter, Bowness
27th and 31st May @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
Choose
Jemima Puddle Duck or Peter Rabbit, grab a seat at their painting table
and design and paint your own sculpture to take home. Purchase your sculpture at The World of Beatrix Potter Box Office and have fun!

Bouncefest @ Brockhole, Windermere
27th and 28th May
⛴️ The Red Cruise stops at Brockhole Pier and the main house/exhibition hall is a 5-minute walk away through the gardens. Direct boats to Bowness (via Ambleside) & Ambleside throughout the day.
Plant a veggie @ The World of Beatrix Potter, Bowness
29th May @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
This event will take place in The Peter Rabbit Garden. This is a free event for Children and is included in their entry ticket.

Pet Encounter @ Brockhole, Windermere
From the 1st June
The Lake District is set to enchant visitors with a pet encounter experience divided into four diverse zones, each offering a unique interaction with various animals.

Creative fun @ Windermere Jetty museum
25th May - 2nd June
Take inspiration from Windermere Jetty Museum’s collection and build your own model boat from recycled materials. Visitors’ creations will form part of a display in the museum’s Learning Centre throughout half term.
