At Windermere Lake Cruises, we're making it easier for local residents to enjoy some of the Lake District's most popular attractions this winter, with savings of up to 50% available through our Local Resident Discount Card.

Available free of charge to anyone living within an LA or CA postcode area, our Local Resident Discount Card offers great value throughout the year. During the off-peak season, from 1 October to 30 April, cardholders can enjoy 50% off our main scheduled cruises on Windermere and 50% off admission to Lakeland Motor Museum. Cardholders can also receive 30% off admission to Lakes Aquarium.

The card is also available to students studying at Lancaster University and the University of Cumbria, helping even more people experience the fantastic attractions on their doorstep for less.

"We're proud to support our local communities by offering significant savings across some of the area's most popular visitor attractions," said a spokesperson for Windermere Lake Cruises. "Whether you're enjoying a cruise on England's largest lake or exploring the fascinating collections at Lakeland Motor Museum, these discounts make great days out more accessible throughout the quieter months of the year."

As well as our Local Resident Discount Card, we're delighted to be bringing back Silver Sailors Fridays from 6 November. Available every Friday during the off-peak season, this popular promotion is exclusively for over-60s and offers some of our best-value fares of the year.

Silver Sailors can enjoy:

  • Freedom of the Lake Passes for just £8.80 per person (usually £26.50)
  • Red and Yellow Cruise tickets for just £4.90 per person
  • Entry to Lakeland Motor Museum for just £6.50 per person

Better still, Silver Sailors can bring a friend of any age, who can also take advantage of the same discounted prices.

Our cruise services operate daily throughout the year, except Christmas Day, connecting Lakeside, Bowness and Ambleside. With comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, onboard refreshments and stunning views at every turn, there's no better way to experience Windermere during the winter months.

To benefit from either the Local Resident Discount Card or Silver Sailors Fridays, proof of residency in Cumbria or North Lancashire is required. Local Resident Discount Cards are valid for five years, while Silver Sailors discounts are available as one-off ticket purchases each Friday during the promotion period.

Residents can apply for a Local Resident Discount Card online at windermerelakecruises.co.uk or in person at any of our ticket offices or at Lakeland Motor Museum.
