Windermere Lake Cruises teams up with Zip World

This summer, Windermere Lake Cruises is joining forces with Zip World to offer visitors a brand‑new way to experience the Lake District, combining a relaxing journey on the water with a high‑flying woodland adventure.

New joint tickets bring together one of our scenic lake cruises with Zip World Windermere’s popular Treetop Nets experience at Brockhole, creating a fun and memorable day out for all ages.

Visitors can leave the car behind and step aboard one of our boats at Ambleside or Bowness Piers, enjoying a gentle cruise across England’s largest natural lake. The journey takes passengers to Brockhole, where Zip World Windermere is located right beside our jetty.

Once ashore, guests can head up into the trees to explore a giant network of springy nets suspended high among the woodland canopy. With plenty of space to bounce, climb, crawl through tunnels and zoom down slides, the attraction offers a unique outdoor experience for both adults and children. Spectator tickets are also available for those who prefer to watch the action from below.

After an energetic hour among the treetops, passengers can relax once again as they rejoin Windermere Lake Cruises for their return journey, sharing stories and enjoying the scenery as they sail back across the lake.

There are two different cruise options to choose from. The Green Cruise travels between Ambleside Pier or Wray and Brockhole on a circular route, offering panoramic views and live commentary filled with stories of the lake, its history and landmarks. Alternatively, the Red Cruise begins and ends at Bowness Pier and provides an equally informative and enjoyable journey.

Jennifer Cormack, Sales and Marketing Director at Windermere Lake Cruises, said: “These new joint tickets offer a genuinely sustainable, car‑free day out for many visitors. Ambleside, Windermere and Wray are some of the most popular areas for visitor and resident accommodation, and by travelling by boat it’s possible to enjoy a full day out on the lake while leaving the car at home.”

Wesley Earl, Head of Sales, Marketing and Brand for Zip World, added: “We’re really excited to be partnering with Windermere Lake Cruises. With the jetty right here at Brockhole, it couldn’t be easier for visitors to enjoy a cruise before bouncing around in the Nets. It’s a brilliant experience that appeals to all ages.”

Tickets can be booked in advance or purchased on the day. Passengers should retain the boat portion of their ticket for the return journey and hand in the Zip World Treetop Nets one‑hour ticket on arrival at the attraction.

The experience is ideal for families with children aged five and over, as well as mixed‑age groups. Return tickets for the Green Cruise and Treetop Nets experience are £25.30 for adults and £18.70 for children. Red Cruise and Treetop Nets tickets are priced at £29.20 for adults and £22.40 for children.
