Windermere Lake Cruises has reached the final round of the prestigious Group Leisure & Travel Awards. In what is set to be a closely fought battle, Cumbria’s most popular attraction is up for Best Guided Tour.

The annual awards, voted for by readers of Group Leisure & Travel Magazine, are the Oscars of the industry and a great insight into the UK’s best operators and attractions for those working in group and coach travel.

The vessels sail along England’s largest lake all year round, except for Christmas Day and packages on-board can range from short 30-minute sailings to full day itineraries, where trips are packaged up with other local attractions to create a rounded experience.

Cruises can also be packaged to include lunch, dinner or afternoon tea on board, while for those looking to travel early or late, there are discounts for sailings pre 10.30 and after 16.00.

Windermere Lake Cruises are suitable for visitors of all ages from school trips or corporate outings to social gatherings.

Free coach parking is available for pre-booked groups and the company also has accessible vessels and foreign language materials.

Commenting on the nomination, Jennifer Cormack, Sales and Marketing Director said: “We’re delighted to be in such great company in the nominations for Best Guided Tour. Our on-board teams take their roles very seriously and go to great lengths to ensure that visitors have an amazing experience that is both entertaining and informative, while also retaining a relaxed vibe. We hope that this is reflected in all of our tours and will be grateful to all of those who vote for us.”

Winners will be announced at a ceremony and dinner on Thursday 26th June at the five-star Royal Garden Hotel, London. Voting is now open at: www.groupleisureandtravel.com/awards/vote
