PRESS RELEASE ISSUED ON 26 APRIL

Local residents in Cumbria and North Lancashire are being urged to enjoy a cruise on Windermere at half price while they can – their special discount ends at the end of April.

We moved on to its summer timetable earlier this month but local residents still qualify for their 50 per cent discount on all sailings up to and including Saturday, April 30th.

All scheduled cruise tickets – are half price to people living in Cumbria and north Lancashire this week thanks to the Local Residents’ Discount Card. And the good news is they continue to qualify for a 20% discount from May to the end of October. The same discounts also apply to visits to the popular Lakeland Motor Museum at Backbarrow.

The Local Residents’ Discount Cards are free to anyone living in CA or LA postcode areas, which cover the whole of Cumbria and a large area of North Lancashire. Lancaster University and University of Cumbria students are also eligible to apply, by presenting their students union card. MyCumbria Card holders can also benefit from the same offers.

Anyone who has an existing card or signs up for a free Local Residents’ Discount Card will continue to enjoy 20% off all scheduled Windermere Lake Cruises services all through the summer.

Jennifer Cormack, Sales & Marketing Director at Windermere Lake Cruises, says, “It costs absolutely nothing to sign up for one of our residents cards, so they’re an ideal way to rediscover some of the great Lake District sights on their doorstep – and the incredible displays at the Lakeland Motor Museum - without breaking the bank.”

To apply for a Local Residents’ Discount Card you can sign up online at Local Residents' Card sign-up (Proof of permanent residency in a CA or LA postcode area will be required).

People with a Windermere Lake Cruises or Lakeland Motor Museum Local Residents’ Card can also qualify for similar discounts to Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
