‘Tis the season to be giving and that is just what the team at Windermere Lake Cruises and Lakeland Motor Museum are doing with the return of Local Resident discounts and Silver Sailor offers.

Local Resident Discount cards offer savings year-round but in the off-peak season from 01 October – 30 April, the savings reach a generous 50% off. They can be used on all the main cruises on Windermere (excluding private charters and self-drives), plus at the Lakeland Motor Museum and can also be used to enjoy 30% off at Lakes Aquarium.

Local Resident Discount Cards are free to anyone living in the LA or CA postcode area, including students of Lancaster University and University of Cumbria.

Meanwhile, Silver Sailors Fridays return on 07 November 2025 and offer very generous discounts for over 60s on Fridays during the off-peak season. These include Freedom of the Lake passes for just £8.40 per person, Yellow and Red Cruise tickets for just £4.70 per person and entry to the Lakeland Motor Museum for £6.25 per person.

Silver Sailor passes even allow users to bring along a friend of any age, who will also be able to enjoy the same low prices.

To claim both the Silver Sailor Friday and Local Resident’s discounts, a proof of residency in Cumbria or North Lancashire is required. Resident’s discount cards are valid for five years, while Silver Sailor Fridays are one off ticket purchases.

Lakeland Motor Museum, located in Backbarrow, is one of the UK’s premier motoring museums with a collection of thousands of historic vehicles and motoring memorabilia, plus a special Bluebird exhibition, celebrating the life of Donald Campbell.

To apply for the discount cards visit Windermere Lake Cruises or apply in person at one of Windermere Lake Cruises ticket offices or at the front desk at Lakeland Motor Museum.
