steamer and text saying COVID19 Update

No offence, but we're keeping our distance

Published: 16th June 2020

The views haven't changed, but our way of working has.

We’ve made some changes to our services so that you can continue to enjoy a boat trip on Lake Windermere during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We need your help and understanding to keep you, our staff, and our boats safe.

Fewer services

Fewer Services

We are now operating a special timetable available from Bowness, Ambleside and Lakeside only.

This is so we can control the number of passengers onboard and clean the boats after every trip.

Ticketed seating

Ticketed Seating

All our services require you to buy a seat ticket online before travelling.

This is to ensure that we can maintain social distancing and keep customers safe.

More space

More space to admire the views

To maintain the '1-metre plus' safe distance between customers, our boats will be less than half full.

There will be lots of unused space between every seat block booking.

Maximum 6 persons

Maximum 6 persons in a group

We're following the UK Government's 'rule of six'.

Bookings for our cruises and self-drive boats can have a maximum of 6 people from one household or social bubble.

Essential Travel

Please adhere to travel restrictions within your local area.

To ensure compliance with Government legislation please adhere to the guidance for the local restriction tier in which you reside.

Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning

Our boats will be cleaner than ever with enhanced cleaning from our crew.

We’ll provide hand sanitisation stations on board and our staff will be keeping a safe distance from you at all times.

We need your help to stay safe.

We’re doing everything we can to follow government guidelines for the safety of our passengers and staff. To help us protect all on board, we need your help too.

Seat colours

Finding your seat

Please book online before travel and make sure you use your booked seat on board.

Coloured signs on the boat and on your ticket will help you find your seats.

Keeping distance

Keep your distance

Friendly reminders around the boat will help you to keep your distance. Please keep your fellow passengers and our colleagues safe by maintaining a '1-metre plus' distance at all times.

Wearing a mask

Wearing your face covering

Its UK law to wear a face-covering when travelling on public transport, so please keep your face covered when travelling with us.

This can be any mask, scarf or covering. We also sell a pack of 2 sealed face masks for just £2 at each pier.

Only essential drinking/eating is allowed on our cruises at the moment, as per UK regulations.
