Our best value cruise ticket is valid on all scheduled sailings and is valid for 24 hours from time of purchase or when you exchange your online e-voucher for your ticket at our piers.

The ticket is valid on all of the following cruises:

  • Full length of Windermere | Lakeside Ambleside (Waterhead) - combining Red & Yellow Cruise
  • Red Cruise | Half of the lake: Bowness → Windermere Jetty Museum Brockhole → Ambleside (Waterhead) → Bowness
  • Yellow Cruise | Half of the lake: Bowness ↔ Lakeside
  • Islands (Blue) Cruise | Bowness Bowness
  • Green Cruise | Ambleside (Waterhead) → Wray → Brockhole → Ambleside (Waterhead)
  • Cross Lakes | Bowness ↔ Ash Landing
  • Fell Foot Ferry | Lakeside ↔ Fell Foot
  • Evening Cruise | Bowness Bowness

The Freedom of the Lake ® ticket allows you to sit back, relax and see the whole of the lake. Travel the full length of Lake Windermere in just under 3 hours.

Change of timetable - Friday 13 June to Monday 16 June

Due to the Great North Swim and Windermere Marathon over the weekend of 13-15 June, we have a change to our advertised timetables.

  • Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June - running a regular Red Cruise/Green Cruise timetable with extra shuttle boats for the sporting events.
  • Monday 16 June - no boats will call into Brockhole and the ticket office will be closed

    The area around Ambleside, Brockhole and Bowness will be busy this weekend (13-15 June). Please leave extra time for your journey and to find parking

Three different types of vessels operate on our routes with varying accessibility.

  • ♿ MV Swift - (marked with a green wheelchair icon on our timetables): our most accessible vessel - step-free access from pier to indoor/outdoor seating & accessible toilet
  • ♿ 'Steamers' MV Swan/Teal - (marked with black wheelchair icon on our timetables) - step-free access from pier to indoor/outdoor seating. Toilets down steep steps.
  • ❌ 'Steamer' Tern & modern launches like Miss Cumbria/Miss Lakeland - are not recommended for customers with limited mobility
  • ❌ Traditional launches like Queen of The Lake - are not recommended for customers with limited mobility

Wheelchair users are strongly advised to call us to confirm which vessel is operating on which service, particularly in poor weather conditions. As on rare occasions, the vessels operating each route can change.
